‍Free THT Online Supervised Healing Practice for Students

Students, please read prior to booking your supervision session:

1. Book your place by contacting (email or phone) Phoolparee (our new membership staff member) at  membership@thehealingtrust.org.uk by 2pm on the last Wednesday of the month, for the supervised healing practice to take place on the 1st Wednesday of the following month or the 1st Thursday of the next month. All dates for the year are listed below.

2. No late bookings will be accepted due to time needed to organise both supervisors and students.

3. UPDATE: Each supervisor will provide one hour of supervision with each student and for one client only. You may use some of the time to discuss the healing, healing practice in general and the code of conduct if you wish and one hour supervised healing may be logged in your student Log.

4. If it is your first time attending, please bring one client and leave 60 minutes in total to go through the healing act and have time for a conversation with your supervisor. Please include all pre and post client care and you can do a mock consultation form filling practice if you wish (not compulsory but preferable for your practice) where your client can make up the information instead of divulging real personal information. This is purely for your practice asking the questions and in the correct manner. Consultation forms are available in your student resources on the website.

5. Phoolparee will send the student list to Yvonne Fitzgerald (Supervision Team Leader) who will then contact the number of supervisors needed in advance.

6. Yvonne will send an email with the Zoom link to students on the supervision Wednesday/Thursday. Students’ login promptly at 7.20pm ready to begin at 7.30pm on a Wednesday and 10.50am ready to begin at 11am on a Thursday.

7. If for any reason you need to cancel before or on the day, please email Phoolparee in the office as soon as possible. Otherwise email Yvonne at yvofitzgerald@gmail.com on the day of the supervision being mindful that your supervisor has already booked the evening or morning to be there for you. Please do not book your place unless you are sure you will have a client for the healing supervision. Emergency cancellations while unfortunate for everyone are of course understood. Repeat ‘no shows’ without cancellation is not acceptable or respectful.

8. Criteria to attend these sessions:

• A student can attend the Online Supervised Healing evenings or mornings once they have completed Parts 1 and 2 of the THT Training, are fully conversant with the Chair Healing Process and can be observed offering healing to a client. After Part 3 you may be supervised doing the couch healing if you wish.

• A student must also have had prior practice with family, friends or with other healers so the online supervision is adding to what they have already learned.

• Please make sure you have pretested your chair and camera positioning for the healing supervision, so it does not waste valuable time on the day. Do a test run with a family member or friend on your phone to make sure they can see you and your client from head to toe. Then place the healing chair in the same position and your camera, on the supervision day. This will be greatly appreciated by the supervisors.

• Please ask your client to wait outside the healing room until you call them in as the supervisor will need some time to speak with you privately first especially if it’s the first time you are both meeting. When ready after approx. 10 to 15 minutes you can invite your client in; your supervisor will welcome your client,  introduce themselves then assist you in making sure they can see you and your client when seated for the healing. The supervisor will mute their microphone until the session is finished unless you need their assistance then you can of course speak to them. Once the session is finished you can look after your client and after they have left you and your supervisor can discuss the session in private.
• If the supervisor cannot hear you speaking, you will need to bring the camera closer to where you are both seated until the consultation is finished then reposition the camera where it was beforehand. In a similar way for the post session conversation bring the camera near where you are both seated so the supervisor can hear you. Once again please do a test run with this camera positioning prior to your supervision session so the session time is not wasted.
