Financial assistance for voluntary healing groups

£1,530.68 has been donated by East of Walsall Healing Group towards the support of Voluntary Healing Groups

After covid closed everyone’s doors in 2020, we presumed that our voluntary healing group would resume at some point. However, key people’s lives changed and nobody came forward to take up the helm. We have therefore decided to donate our bank balance to the Healing Trust, asking that it be ring-fenced for setting up new voluntary healing groups, or to help existing groups through a difficult patch so they can continue their good work

Though it is sad to see the end of our group after 26 years, it has done extraordinary work and has left a brilliant legacy. Enormous thanks and blessings are due to every one of our volunteer healers, especially to those who took on any responsibility for organising the group

The brilliant legacy: One of our patients led us to Dr Sukhdev Singh, an esteemed gastroenterology consultant who courageously opened the door for voluntary healing work in his department at a Birmingham hospital. Seeing remarkable responses amongst his patients, he agreed to a hospital audit. The audit quantified the changes patients experienced after just one session, and how these lasted for at least a week (the extent of the study). It was exciting to see such positive results in graph form. At this same time, the National Lottery announced funding for research that would help people. This was unique. They had never done so before, and would never do again, they said. Astoundingly, Dr Singh managed to enlist the University of Birmingham to conduct the research, a Russell Group university known for world-class research. Despite stiff competition, our bid was successful and we were awarded £205,000. The results experienced by 200 long-term patients (for whom there was no medical cure) are presented in two medical research papers, published in medical journals. But hardly anyone reads research papers, and they are complicated, and they don’t tell the whole story. I therefore felt duty bound to write an easy-read book, so that more people would realise that spiritual healing is real, safe and effective. Yet another miracle is that the medical doctor I asked to write the foreword for my book is now the King’s Physician to King Charles III, responsible for the royal household – Dr Michael Dixon. I have never met him.

To spread the word, I have given numerous talks – even one in the Houses of Parliament – and had articles printed in various niche magazines. However, no main media outlet has taken up the story. Can you help with this? If so, do please get in touch
